Normalized difference vegetation index （NDVI） is one of the most widely used spectrum parameters in crop monitoring, which has important practical guiding significance in crop production and management. In this pa- per, the application of NDVI in crop yield, biomass, harvest index and leaf area index, nutritional status, crop ad- justment was discussed, the existing problems and deficiencies in current research were also summarized, and the research focus of NDVI in crop monitoring in future were put forward.
