A novel approach to design broadband piezoelectric harvesters with adjustable operating frequency-band (OFB) was presented, which could effectively absorb the energy from environment vibration source with varying frequency. Multiple piezoelectric bimorphs (PB) with different lengths were integrated into a harvesting system. Effects of two connecting patterns among PB, in series and in parallel, on improving energy harvesting performance were discussed. Compared with traditional energy harvesters, numerical results show that the OFB of the energy harvester is widened; the OFB of the energy harvester can be shifted to the dominant frequency domain of the ambient vibrations by increasing or decreasing the number of PB in parallel.
