This study collects data from the Chinese automotive industry. Building on the literatures and empirical researches, the paper systematically proposes main components of dynamic capability and Independent Innovation Capability. Firstly, the study finds that dynamic capability is positively related to Independent Innovation Capability. Secondly, the study finds that the linear combination model of independent innovation capability is mostly determined by the technological independent innovation capability; the study also finds that the linear combination model of dynamic capability is mostly determined by the reconfiguration and transformation processes. Finally, according to the research and interviews findings, we draw upon some suggestions for managers and academic implications for the future research.
