In order to study the effect of microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR), the feasibility of microbial oil displacement was affirmed on the basis of analyses of the conditions of reservoir, physical property of crude oil and chemical property of produced water. Meanwhile physical simulation experiment was performed under the pressure and temperature of the stratum, with the condition of nutrition and strain combination adjusted for best efficiency. The results showed that after several treatments cultured and then flooded, oil recovery was enhanced 3.7% by surfactant-producing bacteria, 3.9% by polymer-producing bacteria, and 6% by the mixed bacteria. Moreover, the bacteria were not restrained by the indigenous bacteria in oil. These results indicated that the bacteria could be applied for oil recovery in the field test. Fig 9, Tab 7, Ref 27
