Compound eye has the advantages of small volume,light weight,large FOV and high sensitivity. Compared with the apposition compound eye,superposition compound eye has the higher light efficiency, and higher sensitivity. The characteristic of the GRIN is introduced; the function of the GRIN medium in the superposition compound eye is studied in detail, it is the first time that the optical model of superposition compound eye was built ; by the ray tracing process of the nine ommatidia, the emergent light situation is studied, then the ray distributing on the receptor is achieved.
