The maslinic acid（MA）, a type of pentacyclic triterpene acid, is a natural compound which presents in many plant species, especially in olive. And it has many kinds of pharmacological activities, such as anti-tumor, antioxidant, anti-HIV, antimicrobial, and anti-diabetic activity etc. In this paper, the preparation and bioactivities of maslinic acid are reviewed.
