Based on the study on stability of water resisting groups, this paper analysed the stability of the mechanical model of ＂boundary pillar filling strip water resisting groups＂, calculated the stress condition of water resisting groups and press condition of the filled strip using the mechanical model, and established the formulas for ＂ upward crack＂ and ＂downward crack＂ height, to provide foundation for filling parameter selection.
