The effect of organic bentonite on the viscoelasticity of paper coatings was studied.The results showed that the paper coatings containing organic bentonite characterized as pseudoplastic fluid with obvious shear thinning behavior.The viscosity of paper coatings increased obviously with increasing the amount of organic bentonite.The paper coatings containing organic bentonite showed the property of strong viscoelastic solid.In the same scanning frequency,both elastic modulus and viscous modulus of the paper coatings containing organic bentonite were higher than that of the paper coatings without organic bentonite.
