At present, high nitrogen steels has been regarded as a main direction of the development of high quality metallurgic technology. With fine property of high nitrogen steels being known, its development and production have improved greatly. The paper reviews briefly the research history of high nitrogen steels at home and abroad. Moreover, it introduces several production methods of high nitrogen steel and their advantages ＆ disadvantages in detail. Finally, application prospect of high nitrogen steels will be put forward.
