An actively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser with an acousto-optic modulation device is designed.Employing the compact pump module which utilize a radial array of close-coupled diode laser arrays for efficient direct side pumping of the Nd:YAG rod and without a phase-lock loop circuit,the 2 W continuouswave mode-locked stable pulses is obtained,which pulse width is 324 ps,the single pulse energy is 24.2 nJ.
