Looking back to the development of the geography in China, three periods could be summarized： the ancient time of geography, the modem time of geography and the present time of geography. The development of geography in China was discussed according to the development process of science and technology. The promoting effect of scientific and technological progress on the development of geography in China was explored in the periods.
