Halophage is an important branch of phages,and it plays an important role in population ecology,origin and evolution course of life.Research reports on morphological diversity,methodology,origin and evolution of halophages studies were summarized in this paper.Problems existing in the current studies were pointed out and prospects of the future studies were also made in this paper.
