An analysis model for dynamic behavior of an underwater vertically suspended system was explored. The closed form solution and expressions for the natural frequency and harmonics, motion and tension transfer function between ship and cage were found. The results of sinmlation agree well with those estimated from field measurements. An expression of tension along the tether can be used to predict the ampli- tude and frequency of ship motion at which the tether will go slack and snap load will occur.
