Oligo( ethylene glycol) has been a fascinating building compound because of flexibility, chemical stabil- ity, water solubility, nontoxicity and biological compatibility. The monodisperse oligo(ethylene glycol) could be easily obtained from the commercially available ethylene glycol by Williamson reaction, and their structures were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR. This synthetic method has the following advantages, such as easily availa- ble starting materials, simple operations, high yields and good purity, and it can be used for synthesis in quantity.
