In fingerprint storeroom, most of the press fingerprint collected has fringe line, which brought some troubles to the automated fingerprint identification system' s accurately positioning the center place and dividing the image background ; therefore, the fingerprint cannot be checked out. To meet the real needs of the database, this essay advocates a deleting arithmetic to eliminate the fringe line in fingerprint, which effectively solved the problem and has been proven reliable in the test.
