A new approach to representation of interference＇s quantity in practice was presented by means of interference volume, which was calculated accurately based on surface digital model. Firstly the surface digital model was established according to spline function and discrete data measured by three coordinates measuring machine. Then, the calculation method and the correction method of interference volume were discussed. Finally, this approach is profitable to actual assembly guiding, which will be readily seen from the example given herein.
