The paper elaborates the dynamic mechanism between financial development and eco-nomic grow th and by means of such indicators as economic grow th ,financial development scale and financial efficiency makes an empirical study of the relationship between financial develop-ment and economic growth in Shanxi ,which concludes that the economic growth of Shanxi has promoted the expansion of the financial scale and vice verse ,w hich suggests that the financial de-velopment embodies its supportive function to the economic grow th mainly in the expansion of the financial scale w hile the financial efficiency does not make a significant contribution to the eco-nomic grow th ,and the mode of economic grow th in Shanxi Province is not conducive to the im-provement of its financial efficiency .
