According to the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature（Vienna Code）, the outstanding nomenclatural problems arising from the Late Silurian rhyniophytoid Junggaria were discussed briefly.We concluded that the previously used Junggaria Dou,1983,J.spinosa Dou,1983 and J.sphaerica（Senkevitsch） Cai,1995 were not validly published.Therefore,the validly published name Eocooksonia Doweld,2000 that typified on Eocooksonia sphaerica（Senkevitsch） Doweld,2000 should be used instead.For the first time,we also here assign unique serial numbers to the specimens previously figured under Junggaria.All of the specimens prefixed PB are housed in the Palaeontological Collections of the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology,Chinese Academy of Sciences.
