Ischemic cardiomyopathy is a common disease with high morbidity and mortality.Extensive studies indicate that autonomic nervous activity has a significant role both in triggering myocardial ischemic events and modifying the clinical outcome.Vagal nerve stimulation,which is performed before or after myocardial ischemia,displays the protective effects against myocardial ischemic injury.This article summarized the advances of study on protective effects and mechanisms of vagal nerve stimulation against ischemia injury in myocardium.
