本文从农业、工业与服务业三个方面在理论层面上探讨了产业支撑推动城镇化的作用机理；并用计量经济学方法对产业支撑促进城镇化发展的作用进行了实证检验。分析了中小城市、小城镇产业支撑现状及其影响，认为由于中小城市和小城镇的产业支撑不足，吸纳人口的能力有限，导致人口大量涌入大城市，从而使大城市的“城市病”和中小城镇的“空城”现象日益严重。在上述研究的基础上，从科学规划、合理布局。增强城镇聚集效应，以及发展特色产业等方面提出了强化中小城市和小城镇的产业支撑，促进城镇和产业融合发展的对策建议。
英文摘要：
This paper theoretically discusses the mechanism of industry support to promoting the urbanization, and conducts the empirical test. It analyzes the present situation of small and medium-sized cities and small towns, pointing out that due to the lack of industry support and limited ability to absorb population causes the influx of the population into big cities, so that the big city faces even more serious city problems, while small towns are on the process of becoming ＂empty＂, and then puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen industry support of small and medium-sized cities and small towns and promote the development of convergence of towns and industry.
