Guangweicaris Luo, Fu et Hu, 2007 from the Lower Cambrian Canglangpu (Tsanglangpu) Formation provides significant materials for the study in Cambrian Animal Radiation. In reporting this arthropod of incomplete specimens, Luo Hui-lin et al. (2007) made an incorrect description with respect to morphological attributions of head and tail. This paper re-describes the structural character of Guangweicaris Luo, Fu et Hu, 2007 based on intact specimens attached by appendages or soft-bodied features and argues the classification question of this creature. In Guangweicaris Luo, Fu et Hu, 2007, there are three very narrow and short tergites in the prothorax that are covered by a head shield, and the endopods are similar to those of Fuxianhuia Hou, 1987 and Chengjiangocaris Hou et Bergstrom, 1991, interpreted as ‘the subchelate appendage' (Chenetal., 1995)or ‘the gut divercular' (Waloszek et al. , 2005). These features have not been found in any other arthropods. Guangweicaris Luo, Fu et Hu, 2007, however, is closely related to Fuxianhuia Hou, 1987. Chengjiangocaris Hou et Bergstrom, 1991 and Shankouia Chen, Wang, Maas et Waloszek, 2004 and all of them belong to fuxianhuiid arthropods.
