Urbanization not only is a strong driving mechanism to promote the construction and development of the regional economic and social development, but also is an important symbol to the level and quality of life for urban and rural residents. In China＇ s ＂12 th Five-Year＂ plan recommendations, leaving it clear that the urbanization with Chinese characteristics. Interpretation of the meaning of the new urbanization, establishing its evaluation system is the core of the new urbanization. Taking the developed areas of China＇ s Jiangsu Province as study case, analysing its connotation, assessing its new urbanization, and making clear the future development thought are conducted in this paper; The achivements will provide references for the other regions＇ development in China.
