In order to collect some basic statistics, behaviors of scaly-sided merganser （ Mergus squamatus） were observed in Longhushan National Scenic Area from November to December 2008. The results showed that the number of different be- haviors was different from each other, and that feeding （38.41%）, swimming （30.76%）, resting （12.67%） and clearing （7.48%） are the most frequent behaviors.
