The concentration of the NMHCs in the air in some typical roads in Beijing was monitored with gas chromatography, and the concentration character of NMHCs was discussed. The results indicate that the concentration of the NMHCs in the road-air in Beijing shows double-peaks, one is at about 8：00 a. m. and the other is at about 17：00 p. m. Quantity of the vehicles and weather-conditions are the main factors which influence the NMHCs concentration. The concentration of the NMHCs in the narrow-road is higher than those in the cross and straight-road.
