The concentrations of heavy metal elements from 169 Urban soils samples in Yongkang city were measured by XRF, and the results showed that average contents of Cu, Mn, Co, Fe, Cr, Pb, Ni, Ti were higher than those of Zhejiang Jinhua-Quzhou basin natural soils, especially those samples from industrial regions. The contamination level of heavy metals in study areas was slight in total, but it was heavy in local areas. The dispersion degree of all the heavy metals was bigger, and their coefficients of variation (CV) were from medium to high level, especially Cu which had achieved the strong changeability, and CV value was 152.93%. This sufficiently showed the heavy metals were distributed unevenly in urban soils. The multivariate statistical analysis used to analyze the dates of the samples. The results indicated that Cr, Ni, Cu, Pb, Mn were mainly originated from industrial activity such as hardware and the traffic; Fe, Co, Ti mainly were contributed by the accumulation of elements during the process of soil formation, and Fe had a mixed sources, and the part of Fe came from hardware production.
