The design of a simulation grid system based on Globus Toolkit 4-HLA-G- was proposed. Grid technologies could potentially overcome the drawbacks of the conventional HLA/RTI simulation framework while there are gaps between grid and HLA technologies. The HLA-G simulation grid aims to solve the problems encountered when adapting the HLA simulation framework to Globus-based grid system. The architectural design of HLA-G was given, and some key design issues were discussed. The Design of WS-RTI-a RTI implementation based on Web Service Resource Framework (WSRF)- and the Configuration and Deployment Service for initiating HLA Federates was proposed.An example of deployment scheme and two representative scenarios that demonstrated the subnmission of a simulation job and the migration of a Federate were analyzed.
