Road transportation is an important area of energy consumption and carbon emissions in social life. From the sustainable development point of view, it is necessary to execute road transportation energy-saving and emission-reduction to promote the sustainable development of road transportation. First, by using the influencing factor analysis method, the road transportation energy-saving and emission-reduction evaluation index system, including structure energy-saving, technology energy-saving and management energy-saving, is constructed. Second, the impact of each index is quantitatively evaluated to lay a foundation for determination of road transportation energy-saving and emission-reduction targets. Finally, the strategy measures are put forward to promote road transportation on road transportation energy-saving and emission-reduction from the aspect of sustainable development, including optimizing highway traffic structure, strengthening innovation of science and technology, and enhancing the management level. The research result can be an important reference to implement road transportation energy-saving and emission-reduction management and evaluation.
