The long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are a group of RNA transcripts which are in length over 200nt and have no protein-coding capacity because of lacking of significant open reading frames (ORFs). lncRNAs regulate gene expression and are involved in cell biological functions which play an important role in the process of tumor development and metastasis. The non-small cell lung cell (NSCLC) is about 85% of lung cancer and the patients have a low five year survival rate. The deep understanding of lncRNAs sources, functions and the molecular biological mechanisms in NSCLC provide essential theories and practical values in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
