Based on Chinese provincial panel data,from the double perspective of the general and regional differences,this empiricalstudy analyzes the impact offinancial support for agriculture on the evolution of agricultural modernization. The study finds that the impact of financial support for agriculture on the evolution of agricultural modernization is significantly positive,but the marginal coefficient is small. The effect exhibits significant regional differences and takes on ＂dumbbell ＂feature： it is positive in eastern and western China while it is negative in central China. In addition,among the controlling variables,the human capital is an important factor driving the evolution ofagricultural modernization and the impact of controlling variables also show significant difference.
