Endochondral ossification is an important part of human growth and development,but endochondral ossification abnormalities will seriously affect the healthy growth of teenagers and life quality of elderly.Growth hormone（GH）/insulin-like growth factor-1（IGF-1） is a central axis during endochondral ossification,however,many factors may change this axis,and then cause endochondral ossification abnormalities.This paper summarizes the factors affecting the role of IGF-1 during endochondral ossification,aiming to provide guidance for prevention and treatment of endochondral ossification abnormalities.
