英文摘要：
This article smnmarizes the structure and hereditary characteristics of X chromosome and the history and present situation of X-chromosome specific short tandem repeat （X-STR） loci in forensic medicine. The application of X-STR loci in mixed stain identification and complex paternity cases is discussed. Some problems which should been paid attention to when using X-chromosome STR loci in forensic medicine are also proposed, such as the haplotyping and linkage disequilibrium phenomena.
