This paper makes a systematic analysis of the valence of verb-resultative constructions （VRCs）. It points out the main problems in the study of VRCs＇ Valence, and employs the concept of valence hierarchy to describe the VRCs＇ valence. Relying on whether the copied verbs are needed to raise the underlying arguments, the VRCs＇ arguments are divided into free arguments （as Causers or Causees of VRCs） and dependent arguments （as Objects of the copied verbs）, and various valence hierarchies of the VRCs （argument, knot and link） are described systematically. The paper also discusses transitivity and multivalence of VRCs.
