In this paper, the research progress of the ionic liquid dissolved chitosan is reviewed. Based on the experimen tal results reported in literature, the influence of structures of the IL on the solubility of chitosan is summarized. The relation ship between structure of II. and their dissolution performance is analyzed, and the possible dissolution mechanism is discussed Finally, some problems in this area are proposed and the development tendency is prospected.
