Based on the analysis of its linearization mathematical model of active magnetic bearing, the main methods of self-sensing active magnetic bearings, including state estimation method, PWM carrier frequency information method, high frequency signal injection method and differential transformer method, were explained. The problems and development trend were analyzed and summed up for further research.
