Through understanding and recognition of the thrust Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake, we pro- pose the elastic rebound mode of a thrust fault （sectional view） on the base of strike-slip fault elastic rebound theory mode. Then we propose the velocity profiles across a thrust fault （sectional view） based on fault-parallel velocity profiles across an infinitely long two-dimensional strike-slip fault. Fi- nally, we give a brief analysis of elastic rebound mode and velocity profiles of a thrust fault.
