The resolution equation of the spectra of super-Gaussian pulses was theoretically derived by considering second-order group dispersion. The equation showed: Because of second-order group dispersion, the spectra of pulses don't vary but the phase of every spectrum varies when super-Gaussian pulses transmit in the optical fiber. The spectra of super-Gaussian pulses was showed to be related to the shape of pulses decided by the parameter m and initial chirp. It was found that the spectra of super-Gaussian pulses have the pedestal, side tails and with much broader, corresponding spectra.
