The whisker of Sm2BaCuOδ compound is successfully grown by single crystal technique with a length of 15.5 mm and a diameter of 0. ,5 ram. The structure and composition are analyzed by EDX technique. By high temperature optical microscope ( HTOM), the in-situ epitaxial growth process is observed and both relationships have been studied. A needle-shaped high temperature phase is observed at 1 100 'C, which may be an Sm422 phase. At temperature 1 050 ℃, the Sm123 phase formed and show two epitaxial relations on the Sm211 whisker: [001]Sm211//[100]Sm123 and [001]Sm211//[110]Sm123.
