This paper addresses the studies of protein folding and its applications.The folding mechanism develops from the initial two-state model to a new understanding of the process,which is supposed to contain multi-step sequential changes.The process also involves thermodynamics and dynamics.Based on the mechanism of protein folding,this study also predicts the significance and prospects of its applications.
