The article summarized three modes, including custom manufacturing, simple collaboration, the depth of coopera- tion during the work of building thematic database for ancient books about Chinese medicine. Construction mode, division of roles, database functions of each mode are mainly carried out in detail and the classic cases of each mode are also analyzed. Approaching through reviewing the evolving process of three modes, it shows the construction and development process of thematic database for ancient books and some problems are combed.
