This paper first presents the necessity of studying and developing the tag set of Modern Uyghur stem POS,and discusses the limitations of constructing the Uyghur stem POS tag set from syntax alone.Through absorbing the latest research results of level analysis of English and Chinese,the authors describe the urgency of studying the syntactical and semantic classification system of Uyghur stem combined with the features of stems of modern Uyghur.On this basis,this paper puts forward the Uyghur stem POS tagging specification for category I,II,III and IV stems.
