A novel aromatic tetraamine was synthesized via the condensation reaction of 2, 2-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) hexafluoropropane and 5-chloro-2-nitroaniline in N, N-dimethylaeetamide followed by hydrazine and palladium catalyzed reduction. As the C (CF3)2 and 0 units were introduced into molecules, they could be used to synthesize the corresponding polybenzimidazole with good solubility. The structure of the product was characterized by elemental analysis,IR and ^1HNMR.
