总经理能力特征对企业绩效起着重大影响。通过对湖南、广东两省的114家中高档星级饭店总经理能力特征的问卷调查和深入访谈来比较不同所有制总经理能力特征的异同。研究表明，不同所有制饭店总经理能力特征存在着一定差异。外管饭店总经理的学历明显高于国有饭店和民营饭店；外管饭店总经理的行业任期普遍较长，对饭店行业更熟悉；不同所有制饭店总经理都具备较强的组织能力和沟通能力，差异不显著。最后，给出了一些建议和思考。
英文摘要：
The general manager takes effect to enterprise performance. This paper investigates 114 star hotels in Hunan Province and Guangdong Province in China and compares general manager＇s capability with different ownership. There is distinct difference of general manager＇s capability among hotels with different ownership. The education level of general manager in foreign ownership is higher than that of general manager in nation ownership and individual ownership. The industry tenure of general manager in foreign ownership is longer than that of general manager in nation ownership and individual ownership. Some suggestions are given in the end.
