Carbon nanopaper was a kind of carbon-based functional material with good comprehensive perform-ance and has a broad prospect for applications.The background and definition of carbon nanopaper was de-scribed briefly in this paper,and the classification,preparation method and application of carbon nanopaper were illustrated in detail.The advantages and disadvantages of carbon nanopaper making from different carbon nanomaterials were compared,and the prospect for the development of carbon nanopaper was given.This re-view will provide some theoretical basics and research directions for the further research of novel carbon nanopa-per.
