The applications and production of 4,4＇-diphenylmethane diisocyanate are described. Focus is laid on the discussion of the development of the non-phosgene methods by which 4, 4＇-diphenylmenthane diisocyanate is synthesized and the exiting problems. Synthesis of 4,4＇-diphenylmenthane diisocyanate from dimethyl carbonate is proposed to have great potential.
