Linear density and surface density of the multi-level walking paths of subway station in the city center relate with the walking environment. The vertical transfomation between subway stations and multi-level walking paths, between the different levels of the paths, and the transfomation between the subway and the bus have a great significance in the efficient flow distribution of subway station areas. The article makes a quantitative analysis on the characteristics of the multi-level walking paths of the four cases in Shanghai and Hong Kong in two perspectives of density and transfomation, which will help the design and decision-making of the planning of multi-level walking paths of subway station areas.
