With reference to the researches in recent year, three aspects of preparation, compound and assembly of nano-CdS materials are reviewed, including hydrothermal （or solvothermal） synthesis, sol-gel method and film simulation. Moreover, the application of nano-CdS materials are presented, including biological monitoring, luminescent materials, sensor, photoeleetrie conversion and photocatalytic.
