The Temple Theater for Emperor Tang in Nanyao Village of Jiyuan was founded in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty,rebuilt in the thirty-sixth year（ 1771 AD） of the Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty,and it was again rebuilt in the thirty-sixth year（ 1947 AD） of the Republic of China. And the present heritage should be the status in the period of the Republic of China. The performances played at the temple theater were mainly for opening ceremony of the holly sculptures of Gods,the temple fair dramas and keeping promises to offer gods reward. The dramas played were to entertain the Gods and amuse the people so as to achieve the purpose of enjoining Gods and people.
