Apothecium, which can be described using light microscope, is very important in the taxon of lichens, especially in crustose ones. But the apothecium some lichen genera, such as species of Lecanora and Candelariella, contains oil drops that make you count how many cells per spore has by error. In this paper, the authors designed the experiment to deal with the apothecial sections by KOH solu- tion and Sudan Ⅲ solution. The result shows that KOH solution can wipe off oil drops, and Sudan Ⅲ solution can stain them orange-yellow, but both of the solutions have no effect on the spores. Therefore, the two methods can eliminate interference of oil drops during the observation effectively.
