After analyzing the basic structures and security equipments of the passenger train, an online fault diagnosis system based on the TCN was designed to be alert to the potential fault. The system was made up of the host, the vehicle level state monitoring extension and the vehicle equipment state monitoring module. The modules were connected into a monitoring network by the extension through the MVB, and the extensions were joined to a comprehensive system based on the TCN through WTB for the fault diagnosis of the other mechanical and electrical components.6figs., 15refs.
