Universities must change the concept of education and improve the quality of talents training through the combined action of the humanistic quality education and the cultivation of professional core competence. This article discusses the connotation and cultivation of professional core ability, analyzes functional orientation of humanistic quality education of excellent engineers, and studies the ways and strategies of immanistic quality education of excellence engineers based on professional core competence from four aspects of improving the quality of teachers,constructing campus culture, combining with career planning and strengthening humanistic quality course construction.
